A Special Visitor

Check out this MONSTER TURTLE that crept into our backyard this evening. I was on the phone with my husband when I saw it. When I told him that there was a giant turtle in our backyard, he told me to catch it. NO WAY!! This turtle didn't look very friendly. Nevertheless, I did show a little hospitality and shucked a piece of corn for our guest. Do turtles even eat corn? This one obviously wasn't very impressed and eventually made his way back to the woods where he belongs.

Look at how FAT he is!!

Here is a video of Olivia enjoying our little visitor. She is shouting "The turtle likes it!!" (referring to the corn).

THIS IS HILARIOUS!! Especially Olivia's adorable, excitement laden voice!!! I must say, if that were in my backyard, drew would have been riding him like a horse! HA! Drew has been finding baby salamanders in our yard...they are cute & little, though. That thing is monstrous...only in the south!!!
You crack me up...only YOU would shuck an ear of corn for a wandering turtle~~~

This reminds me of the many turtles papa found when we were in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Olivia expresses her excitement in a most adorable fashion,
( this is Great -Grandma speaking)and there is no grater joy for us than to be able to watch these videos and the stories that go with them. A.J. looks so happy , how does he react to the turtle?

Hi Grandma!! AJ wasn't too impressed with the turtle... he was fed up with everything by the time the turtle came around :) Love you!

She just cracks us up! I can watch that over and over again (and we do). Danielle has the one with her baby memorized.

I am glad to hear that little AJ is doing better. I could hear him cough at the very end of the video.

Take care and give the kiddos hugs and kisses from Kait, Dani, Grandma and Papa Dan!

Hey Leah, just catching up with you again! You sure are such a great mom! I loved the "cushion fun!" Too many moms out there are TOO worried about their children "messing things up!" Don't get me wrong-I like a neat house, but kids need to be kids, and they are young for such a short time! I know you must be such a FUN mom! Keep it up, and by the way, your kids are BEAUTIFUL!

Good thing you didn't pick it up! It's a snapping turtle. Our family farm pond was full of them!
