Olivia's Room

Here is my el cheapo craft project for Olivia's room. I bought these three little cork boards from the dollar store and painted the frames white. Then I mounted those pre-painted wooden things from Michaels on each one, and hung them with colorful ribbons. Very easy and very cheap.

I hung a picture I made in college (yeah Children's Lit!) above her dresser. Fern and Wilbur add a nice classic children's literature touch. The red and white quilt hanging on her chair was handmade by my best friend from childhood, Sarah (Huett) Sprunger. My grandma made the Raggedy Ann doll sitting on the shelf above the window. What a treasures! I sure wish I could do that stuff!
Well, that's Olivia's room so far. I have been waiting to post on it until it was "done", but I don't think it will ever really be done, and this is probably as good as it is going to get for a while. Little by little :)

how cute! i love the color of green you chose. it's been my new favorite color lately- so peaceful- especially in the midst of chaos with little ones sometimes. i love her name over the window. olivia's little pigtails are so cute. (i saw a glimpse of her in the picture) i can't wait til esther's hair gets longer so i can do something to it. you made that picture for children's lit? i don't remember having to do that? i do remember having to make all the faces for teaching art. do you remember that? and we thought those days were busy. :)

Thanks Shannon! I got into the green when I sat in a sea of pink after my baby shower for Olivia. The green walls kept that pink in it's place :) Those characters were for a bulletine board starter. I think that you could choose other projects to do instead, so maybe you did another one :) In the midst of those college days, if I had a choice to color or read one more thing-- I chose coloring! And yes---I remember those faces for teaching art!!! Yep-- we sure thought we were busy back then :)

Leah, her room is so cute. I wish that we all lived closer to each other, and the kids could grow up playing in each others rooms.... We hope that we can make it to visit you guys soon. I just found your blog page today and am so glad that we can keep up this way. We miss you and love you all.

Love the corkboards... very cute. I also like the ribbon/material you used to hang them. It's neat to have such special things from others who share their creativity to display. I still have a 3 ft. tall Raggedy Ann doll that my mom made for me YEARS ago. I love all the ideas you, among others, have posted on your blogs. Maybe someday I'll have a little one to create a room for! Love the color green, too.

HEY FRIEND!!!
I am checking this from good old Lemont, so I'm doing some catching up! Love Olivia's room! Your friend Sara did such a fantastic job on that quilt! It could be a Pottery Barn for sure! :) And that Raggedy Ann doll will be a keeper! So sweet! It looks like O's room is nice and roomey. Love the S.S. lesson...sigh, our kiddos are growing up! :) I might try to do some posting while I'm here...we'll see. We're are so enjoying a different pac & Drew is just beside himself with excitement!

LOVE the green!!!!! You are sooo smart. See, I just don't have that talent. I know it when I see it, but I can't come up with things like that on my own. Way to go!!!!

This is my first time to read on a blog site. Such a nice way to "meet" Alejando's family! I taught him at IPE many years ago and am so glad he now has the helpmeet that God had prepared for him. Was Judy Aguilar in any of the VBS pics?
