Random Notes

We will be disconnected from internet for a little while, so I wanted to post a little last minute update on the happenings in the Millan household.
Homestead Headlines
We had our new-home orientation this morning, and are set to close on a house here in Charleston tomorrow afternoon. Words drastically fall short of expressing the gratitute and praise in our hearts toward the Lord for providing this home for us. On one hand, I want to shout from the mountain-tops a testimony of God's generosity. On the other hand, I want to bow my head in reverence and hide in humiliation because I know that my life will never flesh out love for Him anywhere near the proportion of love He has shown to me. Glory to His name!

Baby Business

AJ is still due at the end of October, but my doctor said that it is likely he might be a little ahead of schedule. Yikes! My family is coming next weekend to help us settle in and unpack. Whew! Thanks mom, grandma, Kaitlin, and Danielle and Papa! I'm making a list and checking it twice :) Also, does anyone have any tips about painting stripes (other than "don't do it!!"); including creative stripe patterns and just general "how-to" advice. I have some ideas in mind, but I wanted to fish for a few more.

Olivia's Latest and Cutest Thing:
Singing the ABC song. It goes something like this "A C dub-ya-jama-dujamaj-beja A C duja baj A C duba duba duja ba....."

Hey Friend!

Well, poo on me for being first again, as long as a crazy person doesn't post again after me, maybe mine will stay posted:) lol

I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU TWO on the house!!! You need to get me an address asap so I can send you something I have for you.

Olivia is so grown up...I can't believe it!! Tell her Auntie says hello and misses her!! Tell her to call me:)

I have been SOOOOO homesick this past weekend. I think it had a lot to do with Ben still being here but not seeing him after Saturday. Our time together was such a reminder to me that I have wonderful friends...and how much I miss the "deep" friends (the kind that know you WELL!) and those that enjoy great spiritual conversations; the kind to challenge you in your walk with God! Even though I have "friends" here at church, not many of them are brave enough to have a "deep spiritual" conversation...kind of sad!

Well...sorry for the length but that's what happens when you move 2000 miles away from someone dear:)

OH..great surprise this week, I made a call about a song I was looking for to BJ; Molly answered the phone! That was the highlight of that day:)

ttyl, Love ya friend!

That is so cute!!! I can just hear her little voice trying to fit in all the letters- or maybe that's Ella's voice I hear. :) It's so fun to share simple things like this with other moms, isn't it? We can relate so well.

Congratulations on your home. In the 4 years we've lived here we've moved 4 times. I think we're packing/ unpacking/ moving pros. I've moved at 8 months pregnant as well and also with a 6 week old. This next time baby number 3 will be 2 months old. Hopefully we'll be buying a house in May or June and staying here for 5 years (give or take a few). Fourth Baptist Church votes on Jason and I to be on the pastoral staff here overseeing youth and singles ministries. We'll see? !! Beth

Congratulations on your home! I'll be praying that closing will go smoothly. Olivia is too cute, she looks just like her momma! :-)

Leah, I don't know how to blog yet. Do I answer you on your blog or mine or e-mail? Well, Ella is just a name I heard and liked a few years ago. Her middle name is Caroline which I love together. Recently I've heard the name Ella a lot though. Oh, well. Can't be original all the time! Chastity Gomez has twins about 2 yrs. old I guess and another on the way. She's going to name the new baby Ella. I don't know if you keep in touch with her.

Jason is in his fifth year at Central and Lord willing his final. We will be on staff mid October we're guessing. So he'll finish up this semester and then only have 3 or 4 credits next sememster.

It's so exciting to FINALLY be able to focus on ministery after school, school, school!

Leah,
This is Sarah (Thornberry) Curtis. How in the world are you? I discovered you by looking at Sherry's blog where Beth had posted a comment, so going to her blog, there you were, posting a comment... I think its time I give in and create a blog.
looks like you are doing well!
Love,
Sarah

Thanks all for saying hi! I'm looking forward to getting connected to internet again-- I just have a minute here. The move went well, thought I will never again underestimate the level of difficulty in any moving situation that involves a 16 month old :)

Leah...
Seems like I'm right on...no reason to think I'll go early. So if you can hold off a little bit we can try for the same day for our little buddies...hee!hee! I will just laugh if you beat me to it!!! Above all, praying for perfect timing for both of us and that your experience will be smooth!!!

Love ya ~ e.

Leah, for painting stripes, try taping off sections so they are straight. You probably knew that, but hey.

Well, I don't know who Nancy Conway is off the top of my head...but thank you for the details!! It seems our dear Alex forgot the "details" when he texted me on Saturday morning at 6:30...but getting woke up to be told I'm an auntie again is worth it!!!! :) Looking forward to seeing pics of AJ!!!

Hey Dana

It's Leah's mom!! Alex called me as soon as he was born and I got to hear him cry, but it was a while before I knew the details.

Leah is doing just great! My mother is there now and I am going in a couple of weeks. My main job will be to have fun with Miss Olivia. She is an absolute joy to be around!!

Oh wow...Hey Mom! (See, I only know you as Leah's Mom, not by your actual name:) I have been wanting to call and check in with them, but with the time difference; by the time I am in quite mode, it's too late to call a new mama on EST:) Tell them all I said hello and praying for them. I bet Grandma is having a blast with her newest great grand baby! And you are going to have OH SO MUCH fun with lil' Olivia, not to mention AJ! I miss them all SO MUCH!!! Maybe by next Christmas I can save my pennies and fly east:) Even though I miss them, I know how much it means to ya'll and them to be close to family! (I get to go home to MI for Cmas...I am so excited!) Thanks for keeping us posted!

Well, congrats on AJ's arrival, and glad to hear everyone is doing great. You've probably already painted, but if not...Michael has done a little painting recently for his job, and he measures then snaps a chalk line and tapes along that. It is much easier than trying to tape straight! :-)

Hey there Mom Conway...do you have any pics of AJ that you might be able to e-mail me?? I have one that a friend of mine somehow got and sent me cause I hadn't seen him yet. If so, my e-mail is DanaGayer@hotmail.com I LOVE the fact he has Leah's cheeks:) but other than that...he looks like Alex. It's pretty much a face only shot right after he was born cause he's all bundled up, SO cute though!! Bet you're a proud grandma x2:) Thanks for anything you can send my way...missing them LOTS!!! (and you, the girls, and Grandma too!)
