Just Keepin' it Real
Does anyone else feel like pulling their hair out during the bewitching hour between coming home from church and putting the kiddos to bed?

Tonight I sat Olivia and AJ down for a post-church snack while I hurried to whip up a batch of tortillas for my wonderfully worn-out husband who was still out running the evening van route. Somehow, things got ugly while my back was turned and when I finally turned around, the yogurt war was already in full swing.

I don't know who started it, but I think that when it comes to yogurt wars, he who ends up with both spoons-- wins.

Cypress Gardens

I figured that it was time for the kid's wildlife experience to go beyond seeing the fishies and lobsters at Wal-Mart, so we headed up to Moncks Corner to visit Cypress Gardens.

Our first stop... The Butterfly Garden! A little nerve racking since the gift shop lady's parting words to me were "oh, and just don't touch the butterflies... they say if you do they die or something". I certainly don't want to be responsible for the untimely death of a poor little butterfly. The kids were very good, and I am happy to report that no butterflies were harmed during the Millan visit.

Next Stop. . . the Nile Crocodile. Olivia wasn't very enthusiastic about these creatures, but any Little Einstein buff can appreciate the NILE CROCODILE.

They also had an aquarium, a giant tortoise named Pedro, birdies, and a boat ride!! I wish I had pictures of the boat ride, but I was sitting in a canoe with a 15 month old and a 2 year old. . . need I say more.

(I mostly took video, but am having a hard time uploading all but one... if I can figure it out, I'll post the others later)

This Little Girl....

I owe my first laugh of the day to little Olivia. She had a stuffy nose, so when she greeted me this morning she whispered "Mommy I have bread in my nose".

A Fun Day Together

We set out to go to a lake today, but ended up at the first canal built in America. I don't remember the name of it, and I don't feel like going to the car right now and getting the brochure. Nevertheless, it was a wide open space with lots of bridges where the kids could run and look at the water and run and look at a bird and run some more. Olivia and AJ were savoring the great outdoors! It was better than a playground.

We Have a Climber!

I lowered Olivia's kitchen so our little Iron Chef AJ could cook up a few things, but he found an even better use of the range!
This look kills me everytime. It is accomplishment, mischief, curiosity, and "mom's -gonna-love-this-one" all wrapped up in one goofy little grin!
