Just Keepin' it Real
Does anyone else feel like pulling their hair out during the bewitching hour between coming home from church and putting the kiddos to bed?

Tonight I sat Olivia and AJ down for a post-church snack while I hurried to whip up a batch of tortillas for my wonderfully worn-out husband who was still out running the evening van route. Somehow, things got ugly while my back was turned and when I finally turned around, the yogurt war was already in full swing.

I don't know who started it, but I think that when it comes to yogurt wars, he who ends up with both spoons-- wins.

I think it is funny that your little guy is covered in food....but i think it is more funny that you always find time to snap a picture of it. ;)

I love it! I don't know about you...but "whipping" and "Tortillas" would not consist in the same sentence on my blog. ESPECIALLY on a sunday night!! :) It's funny you mention the "bewitching hours" because last night I was thinking THE SAME THING!!!! Insetead of going crazy, we had ice cream over toasted waffles and boys got to bed late...but I wasn't feeling stressed over it. (John has also been at his dad's sun nights taking a class, so it's just me to ward off the night time monsters!!!) :)

Great job capturing the moment. And I would agree...the spoons take all!!!

Yep, that was us last night and the week before too. It seems with our ministry we're always one of the last to leave (wait a second it was that way before too :) Anyways, so Stephen's gone and last night I was trying to get Esther to eat something before bed and she is refusing food- so I sent her to bed w/o anything. (not to mention the snack she had before church, during church, and after probably had nothing to do with that. :)

uggghhh- not one of my most pleasant hours!!!! It's hard w/out the ministering man of the house. We wives need a Sunday and Wed support group! BTW It's so hard to nurse the baby during the yogart war- just a warning for your future! or maybe just space all 3 a little better than we did and you won't have the food mess? ha! there's always something, isn't there?

So Canon just looked over these pictures with great thought..."why is AJ so messy?? That's yuck." Ahhh, the only child syndrome! Count on some pretty funny blogs from our end in the next few months!!

Thanks for the support guys! I will think about you all on Sunday and Wed nights... experiencing your own yogurt wars :)

Stephanie--I just love that little Canon :) Maybe AJ can be his freshman roomate one day... I bet he'd love that one :)

I don't think I've ever "whipped" up more than cold cereal, nachos, popcorn, etc. on Sunday evenings. Sundays are such long days for the whole family (they're good days too -- don't get me wrong). Kayla often hits meltdown during the time we're standing by our display table after the evening service... and we are too are the last ones to leave with the pastor. Fortunately, everyone has been so understanding... I think it's funny that so many people identified with this post. Sometimes, I think I'm the only one in that boat.
