Cookbook

I am an average cook, and as much as I appreciate the many cookbooks that seek to elevate my kitchen experience to that of a gourmet chef, I still prefer making all the classics and making them well. My husband bought the America's Test Kitchen Family Cookbook for me a few years ago (I guess I can take a hint when it passes my way), and I love it! So far, every recipe I've tried has been a winner, and it also has alot of reference material that makes for an interesting read. Every woman needs a trusty cookbook, and this is mine.

I wonder if they make a "singles" edition:) LOL I'm going to check into it, as well as check out that site!! www.americastestkitchen.com I haven't made my taco pizza yet, I'm hoping tonight to do that. I have to clean my stone before I can make Pizza again. OH, LADIES...every lady MUST have a Pamper Chef Stone to make the BEST pizza in the world, and the pizza cutter to go with it. (Essentials to becoming; or at least a disguise of the "chef" we all dream of:) Put it on your “honey’s” list for this Valentines day if you don’t already have one! They are WELL WORTH the price!!! (PC also has a recipe book/collection of JUST pizza recipes!) I have a great “Chicken Caesar Salad” Pizza recipe that I’ll try and post on my site…I’ve actually had it and it is GREAT!! (Sounds gross maybe, but it IS good:)

Okay, I don't have that Chicken Caesar Salad saved on my computer anywhere, so I'll have to dig it out and type it out…that may take a few days, but here is a source I used to get good pizza ideas/recipes. www.pamperedchef.com and just go to their “recipes” corner. I just type in "Pizza" and you will have a few "ideas" to choose from. I LOVE the Smokey BBQ Chicken Pizza, but I DO improvise the recipes to my taste and likenings (ie: no peppers, onions, etc..) Also, I only use Mozzarella cheese on pizza; except for the taco pizza I'm going to make tonight, I'll use "taco" cheese:) And I don’t use the refrigerated crust anymore…to expensive compared to Jiffy:) But for you moms that have lots of time, you can use Leah’s new crust idea:) I hope the ideas help:)

You know what?! I forgot to tell you one of the main ingredients in that pizza...canadian bacon slices! Oops! Glad you tried it and liked it anyways!

Amen, Dana! I also love my pampered chef stone! It is getting well-seasoned, which means it looks like a chared circle...but it works its charm!

Leah, thanks for posting the picture of the cookbook! I was going to look it up and you saved me that step! I have been printing so many recipes to try off the web and kept stuffing my folder full. I went through them all tonight and organized them...all the while thinking...I really don't have time for stuff like this. I should just use the cookbooks I have! I like to try the Martha Stewart style recipes...but like you said, who wants goat cheese...and frankly, who can afford it???

happy cooking!
