Magical Basket

O.K. maybe I am getting a little too transparent with this post, but this cracked me up this morning! I started sorting the clothes out of our laundry basket, and the clothes just kept coming and coming and coming. It was like Mary Poppins' laundry basket!
Laundry is like the big black hole on my to-do list. Have you found any good strategies to keep the piles under control? Perhaps the most obvious one would be to end this post and go throw in another load.

Oh Leah, I am right there with you! I don't mind the "putting the laundry in the washer and dryer" part. It's the "folding and putting away" part that gets me every time! :-) My only suggestion (and you might already do this) is I use All- Free and Clear detergent and wash all our clothes together. Instead of separating out Owen's to wash with baby detergent. At least it cuts down on the amount of loads, but not the amount OF the load. Oh well, the adventures of a wife and mother! Speaking of laundry, I have some to do! Happy washing! :-)

Oh I feel your pain!!! Just yesterday my bathroom looked like it threw up towels!! The best thing I have found is a 3 sectioned laundry sorter that we keep in the bathroom. It's cotton material on a metal rod form and has a 'lid' that covers the laundry. So I never have to sort laundry anymore! And it is easier to tell which load imperatively needs to be done next! I think we found it at Walmart and I have also seen them at Target!
Better go fold my towels!

Leah,

Just had to tell you to check out Cari Gerdt's blog (you can link to it from mine). She has a whole post with funny comics about laundry!

i'm with you too. my sister and i are at my mom's early and so we were just downstairs sorting all the laundry from two babies, us, my parents, and grandpa. I don't mind washing either but folding and puting away gets me. I try to do a load or two a day at home and I have a similar system that Erin uses that helps cut down on the time. But, i think I have more time than you and Erin both with laundry for two little ones, plus caring for the litle one!

Laundry update: got around to drying the third load of the day and ran out of dryer sheets. I can't win!

Sigh....never ending! That is what I hate about laundry. I have gotten to the point that I don't even sort colors. I also do the kids with ours. I have found Purex clear that is hypoallergenic and free of dye and such. Much cheaper. I have found that it is much easier to take the five minutes to fold it right out of the dryer. That still leaves putting it away, but if I leave it and get a huge pile of clean clothes my kids think it is the indoor equivalent to fall leaves. It isn't pretty!!!

Leah...I love keeping a clean house, but laundry is the worst!! If I don't do at least one load a day I lose control of it quickly!! I too use PUREX clear and the only think i sort out are our jeans. About once a week I do the whites in hot water with a bit of bleach but for the most part I usually throw a load in when I get home...

I too hate it though
